The Saturday Film: SOS Titanic

on BBC One London

The Titanic was proudly launched in April 1912: heralded as 'the longest, the tallest, the most magnificent ship in all creation'. It set sail on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. Just 36 hours before its scheduled arrival the unimaginable happened and the ship, carrying over 2,000 passengers, hit an iceberg which ripped open its hull. This dramatic film tells ot the passengers, their life and loves on board and of the greatest tragedy in maritime history. An all-star cast has been assembled for this vivid reconstruction of an event which affected the entire world.
