A programme for children under five
Nursery rhymes stories, and music
' The time is a quarter to two '-familiar words eagerly looked forward to by our under-fives, for it means the beginning of ' their ' programme. Indeed, we have discovered that many small children, as a result of their anxiety not to miss the broadcasts, have taken their first steps in learning to tell the time, and they watch with eagle eye for the fingers of the clock to arrive at the all-important position they have come to recognise. One small boy was very enterprising. He learned that when the big finger pointed to nine and the little one to two, it really was time for his programme. At ten-thirty next morning, he was discovered ensconced in his chair, all ready for the broadcast to begin. The fingers of the clock were at nine and two-he had put them there!
