Wildlife on One: Goldfish

on BBC One London

One day several thousand years ago, a man took a dull-coloured carp with a few red scales from a slow-running stream in China - and turned it by careful breeding into gold. Now every week they are bred in millions for fun-fairs and pet shops all around the world. In Britain they are cherished, but often badly looked after, pets. In contrast most goldfish from one US fish farm are fed to pet piranhas!
