The Officers' Families Fund was founded sixty years ago to give financial help and advice on all personal problems to the widows and other dependants of Officers of the Royal Navy and Army, killed in action, or where death was attributable to service. Nearly two and a quarter million pounds have been distributed to families in financial difficulties caused through the three major wars of the period-the South African war and the first and second World Wars. The need is as great as ever, and the Fund depends entirely on voluntary contributions.
