This new six-part comedy drama series is about a group of those who choose the second option - part-time soldiers in the Territorial Army. Men and women, teachers and shop assistants, bonded together by a sense of adventure and humour.
Writer Tim Firth scripted the Screen One film Money for Nothing, shown in the autumn, and has a sitcom starring Bernard Hill coming up, Once Upon a Time in the North.
In the first episode, the lifelong friendship between Hodge and Eric is threatened by the arrival of Laura, who sings in the local Chinese restaurant.
