Match of the Day Live: Real Mallorca v Chelsea

on BBC One London

Live coverage of the European Cup Winners' Cup semi-final second leg (kickoff 7.45pm) as trophy-holders Chelsea take on Spanish opponents at Palma's Luis Sitjar stadium in an attempt to reach the final for the second year running.
Thanks to a second-half equaliser from substitute Tore Andre Flo, Chelsea have given themselves a fighting, if difficult, chance of reaching the final again. Mallorca proved to be a handful in the first leg at Stamford Bridge and took a first-half lead through Dani Garcia. But that away goal could be of crucial importance. The Mallorcan defence proved their worth at Chelsea and they received admirable assistance from Argentine goalkeeper Carlos Roa.

The current Chelsea squad is packed with European experience. Spanish international right-back Albert Ferrer was in Barcelona's victorious Cup Winners' Cup team two years ago. Uruguayan midfielder Gustavo Poyet, who was in Chelsea's triumphant team last year, will be looking for his third victory in the competition - he was a winner with Real Zaragoza four years ago. France's World Cup-winning central defensive partnership of Marcel Desailly and Frank Lebeouf, are proven at the highest level.
Introduced by Desmond Lynam, with Alan Hansen.
Commentary comes from John Motson and Mark Lawrenson.

(In the event of extra time and penalties, subsequent programmes may run late)
