Music Year commission by BBC Radio 3 for the Royal Opera, is heard in its first broadcast performance.
Goehr takes as his text the Italian libretto that Ottavio
Rinuccini wrote for
Monteverdi's lost opera of 1608, reinterpreting the myth of Ariadne's abandonment by Theseus. Presented by Michael Berkeley.
