Many aspects of the polar bear's life were a mystery until this remarkable film was made. These magnificent hunters and the world's largest carnivores are captured crashing into snow dens of seal pups, swimming underwater between ice floes and raising their tiny new-born cubs in a winter den. Never before had so much time been spent by wildlife film-makers on the Arctic ice. First shown in 1997 this documentary is narrated by David Attenborough.
