Living Dangerously

on BBC One London

Some bear facts about grizzlies are uncovered with the return of the wildlife series in which world conservation issues are explored from the viewpoint of the animals threatened by man's activities.
As the west was won, bears lost out. But in a unique place in Alaska grizzly, or brown, bears do mix with people, who meet this cuddly killer at arm's length. Our contradictory relationship with these magnificent yet fearsome animals is explored as this film follows a bear family on their annual trek from mountains to the coast. It provides a close-up view of their society, and some remarkable underwater shots of bears fishing for salmon.
Voice-overs by Ian McShane and Rula Lenska convey the viewpoints of humans and bears respectively.
