The Early Music Show

on BBC Radio 3

In his 20s and 30s, King Henry VIII composed a variety of partsongs and consorts. Some 34 of these were compiled in the so-called "Henry VIII manuscript", which also included works by several other musicians who passed through Henry's court, such as William Cornysh and Robert Fayrfax. Lucie Skeaping presents a selection of secular music from this manuscript.
