Gerard Presencer's Platypus. British trumpet and flugel horn prodigy Gerard Presencer has performed with UK jazz luminaries such as Jason Robello and Stan Tracey, and US legends Phil Woods and Johnny Griffin. Presencer's group takes its name from his 1998 debut album, Platypus, and includes John Parricelli on guitar.
Tonight's programme centres on a new commission by Presencer premiered last month at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham. The programme also features Jez Nelson in conversation with major British pianist improviser Howard Riley, who looks back over his career.
