2/5. Adolescence
Having achieved fame and critical acclaim before he reached his teens, Erich Korngold created another sensation at the age of 12 with his Piano Trio. Although seemingly incapable of putting a foot wrong, difficulties arose over performances of his music because of his music-critic father, Julius, whose outspoken views had made powerful enemies in Vienna. However, Felix Weingartner and others still championed the boy's work.
