Olympic Grandstand

on BBC One London

Introduced by Bob Wilson
Extended coverage of the overnight action from the Olympic Games including:
Athletics Finals: has Daley Thompson added a second gold medal to the one he won in the Moscow Games back in 1980? Two other gold medallists in those Moscow Games, Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett , resume their battle for supremacy in the 1500m. But this time they have World Champion Steve Cram to worry about as well. Also Kathy Cook has been looking to add to her medal collection in the women's
200m.
Boxing: the semi-final stages - with all 24 boxers still in the tournament guaranteed a medal. However the losers at this stage have to settle for bronze. HARRY CARPENTER reports from the Los Angeles Sports Arena.
Synchronised Swimming Final: the first time in the Games for this event-so especially memorable for the medal winners. ALAN WEEKS and HAMILTON BLAND report from the Olympic swimming-pool.
Plus other Olympic action including archery, basketball, canoeing, hockey semi-finals, judo and wrestling.
