ALEX HIGGINS beat STEVE DAVIS last year by one frame in one of the most exciting finals ever seen. This year they have been seeded to meet in the final once again. Over the last few years the up-and-coming players have produced many upsets and if the seedings are proved correct, this will be the first tournament in which the top two have reached the final. What is certain is that the Preston Guild Hall will be packed and the tension will be mounting as DAVID VINE introduces coverage of the penultimate session.
