The Decca Record Story

A three-part documentary in which Mike Hurst looks at the history of Decca Records and tells the story of 60 years of popular music. 1: The Early Years. The story begins in 1928 when a young stockbroker called Edward Lewis was persuaded to take on the company. The programme follows Decca's venture into America where it took over the Brunswick
Company, the dance band years, the war and the development of the Navigator system, which in turn gave birth to FFrr (full frequency range recording), and stereo recording. Producer Alan Roberts
