Wildlife on One: Gently Smiling Jaws

on BBC One London

The first of six programmes

With sinister 'grin', powerful jaws and fearsome reputation, Nile crocodiles are, to most of us, creatures to be avoided.
But naturalist Tony Pooley has made a remarkable observation which shows that this living relative of the dinosaur can be a caring and sensitive creature, using its mouth to cradle its young as well as to crush its prey. What's more, they come when he calls!
