The Rt. Hon. Margaret Bondfield
Margaret Bondfield is one of the most vital women of our time. She was Labour Member for Northampton from 1923 to 1924, and repre- sented Wallsend in the House of Commons from 1926 to 1931. From 1929 to 1931 she was Minister of Labour, and has been a Privy Councillor since 1929.
She was a propagandist connected with the Independent Labour Party before the Labour Party was formed, and was one of the speakers to the resolution at the Trades Union Congress at Plymouth at which the. formation of the Labour Party was determined upon. She has been constantly engaged in propaganda for the Party and has taken part in all General Elections and most by-elections since 1918. She is now National Officer of the National Union of General and Municipal Workers.
