on BBC Home Service Basic

View in Radio Times

The first of a series of great Parliamentarians, arranged for broadcasting by Igor Vinogradoff and produced by Val Gielgud
Listeners throughout the country will eagerly await this new series which is to show us something of the work and lives of the great Parliamentarians who have contributed to our island history.
It is fitting that the great father of a great son, the first William Pitt and the first Earl of Chatham, should inaugurate the series. This foremost British statesman was Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1756 to 1761-those critical years during which he fought the Bourbon Monarchy of France in all parts of the world.
