The Orient Express

on BBC Radio 4 FM

A Ride into History with Julian Pettifcr The Orient Express, scene of perhaps Agatha Christie 's most famous detective story, produeed a frisson of excitement in even the most blasé traveller as it clattered across frontiers to the far corners of Europe. Now its sumptuous carriages and matchless cuisine have been revived in a new regular service that runs from London to Venice - from where JULIAN PETTIFER reports at the end of its inaugural run.
