DR ANNE Ross , author of Pagan Celtic Britain and The Everyday Life of the Pagan Celts, recalls two personal experiences which brought the two climactic moments of Celtic civilisation vividly to her mind: the great La Tene period of the last few centuries before Christ and the downfall of Gaelic Scotland at Culloden in 1746.
