The Church Lads' Brigade is a voluntary uniformed organisation of boys aged eight to twenty-one, with 20,500 members in the United Kingdom and three Regiments overseas, all of whose officers are unpaid except a small head-quarters staff of nine. Among the activities of its members are camping and physical education, while proficiency badges are awarded for athletics, music, natural history, cycling, engineering, and other hobbies.
