Sunday Feature: John Dankworth inSouth Africa

More than 50 years ago John Dankworth flew in to Johannesburg to give a short series of concerts in South Africa and, unaware of the growing menace of apartheid, joined the protest movement. Dankworth, returning there for the first time, discovers how music is faring in today's rainbow nation. He meets veterans Hugh Masekela and Jonas Gwangwa , and visits a music school in Daveyton township, and meets younger musicians such as trumpeter
