The Record Producers

on BBC Radio 1 England

The last In a series of 18 programmes Chris Thomas Introduced by Andy Peebles
Thomas was one of the top producers of the 70s.
His early work with the Climax Blues Band and Procol Harum encouraged the development of ' the ChrisThomas production', the creation of a sound that is designed to support and enhance the sense of the lyric.
After a difficult start to his career, Thomas emerged as the producer of Roxy Music and was responsible for Bryan Ferry's most successful solo work. In the same year as his success with Ferry he took on the task of recording the Sex Pistols. More recent collaborations have been with The Pretenders, Pete Townshend and Elton John.
