London. In the first half of tonight's concert, the BBC Singers perform Messiaen's setting of poetry from his favourite love stories -
Tristan and Isolde among them. After the interval, Messiaen's vast, flamboyant masterpiece, Turangalila, which he described as his "song of love", an irresistible, all-consuming love. The composer's widow and her sister are the soloists.
