Scobie is arrested on suspicion of having stolen £50 from Lilli. He claims the money came from Pandorus who was sent to him by Munro. But Munro denies all knowledge of Pandorus, yet he puts up bail for Scobie. Sgt. Turner of the Edinburgh C.I.D. is distracted from his questioning of Scobie by the arrival of Supt. Slackhand of the Special Branch. Scobie returns to his flat. But unknown to him it has been let to a new tenant - blonde Lilli...
