David Murray 50th Birthday Session
Jez Nelson presents an exclusive studio session to mark the 50th birthday of American saxophonist David Murray. A founder member of the World
Saxophone Quartet, Murray's more recent work has focused on the drumming rhythmns of West Africa and the Caribbean. For this session he's joined by pianist Julian Joseph , drummer Mark Mondesir and bassist Mark Hodgson to pay tribute to Charlie Parker , who died the year Murray was born. Plus a look at the latest jazz on CD.
