View in Radio Times

by Frank Smith
Nottingham has many fine modern buildings, but also, in the very heart of the city, are numbers of old cave dwellings cut out of the solid rock. They have an interesting history, closely bound up with the development of the town, and dating from the time of Robin Hood and his Merry Men to their use as air-raid shelters today.
