A Cambridge Summer Evening
Sir David Willcocks introduces a recording made by the CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY CHAMBER CHOIR, Conductor RICHARD MARLOW , who re-create the concert they gave from punts moored on the River Cam in May Week 1977.
The programme opens with Vaughan Williams 's Overture composed for a Cambridge production of Aristophanes's The Wasps in 1909, and closes with KING'S COLLEGE CHOIR, conducted by PHILIP LEDGER , singing music by Delius ' To be suns of a summer night on the water.': records
