Concerts That Changed Jazz
2/4. In 1946 at the LA Philharmonic Hall, the first concert to feature the new boppers like Charlie Parker was so radically powerful that none of the swing generation musicians would follow him on stage. It was the point at which the jazz mantle was publicly handed on to the new generation.
