The Crucified King

on BBC One London

Martin Luther King marched onto the streets of Alabama 40 years ago today, facing certain arrest, in an attempt to highlight the injustices of racial segregation by identifying with the suffering of Jesus Christ. In this programme for Good Friday the Rev Joel Edwards follows the civil-rights leader's footsteps and reflects on how Jesus's story found contemporary resonances in the life and faith of this great 20th-century figure.
