Hue and Eye
The Deception of Colour by R. A. Weale , D.SC. of the Medical Research Council Ophthalmological Research Unit
When we use paint we expect green to look green and red to look red. Similarly, we expect colour photographs to give us ' the true colours.' The various forms of colour reproduction are related to how we think colours are seen, and there are several theories that try to explain our reactions. Dr. Weale discusses these and also some of the ways in which we can get an impression of colour when in fact it is not there.
