Elqar Season
Tom Service presents the first in a series of concerts celebrating the 150th anniversary of Elgar's birth and featuring some of his most popular orchestral works. Tonight's pieces take us from a Victorian and youthfully exuberant overture, through the symphony's Edwardian opulence in Elgar's middle age, to the postwar emotion of the Cello Concerto. Truis Mork (cello), Philharmonia, conductor Andrew Davis.
