John Earle goes aboard the Shambles Lightship. This is one of the dozens of lighthouses, vessels, and buoys controlled by Trinity House which warn shipping of dangerous waters around Britain. The Shambles Lightship keeps a 24-hour-a-day watch over the hazardous Shambles bank off Portland Bill.
