Cecilia Bartoli
Italian mezzo Cecilia Bartoli is the bestselling classical artist after
Pavarotti. She achieved stardom at an early age and, now only just into her thirties, she is very careful about what and when she performs. In the first of this week's programmes, she talks to Joan Bakewell about her musical family and how she prefers jeans and trainers to designer clothes. Including arias from
Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and Rossini's The Barber of Seville and songs by Pergolesi and Donizetti. Producer Gwawr Owen
