Rockabilly Rebels

on BBC Radio 2

Marty Wilde presents a new six-part series devoted to rockabilly, the music that emerged from America's Deep South and was influenced by hillbilly traditional music. Its rock incarnation, backed by acoustic guitar and bass, imbibed the music of Elvis Presley , the Everly Brothers, Carl Perkins , Brenda Lee and country blues artists like Rufus Thomas and Howlin' Wolf. The series reflects the genre in its heyday from 1954-59. Producer John Morrison and Anita Morrison
