With Peggy Reynolds. The Lloyd Webber dynasty began with William Southcombe Lloyd Webber. He was a top student at the London College of Music, yet his career as a composer was effectively thwarted by the Second World War. William married in 1942, and had two sons - Andrew and Julian. Andrew's interest in the musical theatre was ignited after seeing My Fair Lady, and Julian took up the cello after going to a concert and being fascinated by seeing the cellists play.
