This week, a chance to see again the adventures of Joan Barrow, a farmer's wife from the Cotswolds, as she goes into training for her first race under National Hunt rules. It is a dangerous and strenuous sport. To prepare herself Joan meets Sue Horton , Peter O'Sullevan, Richard Pitman , Graham Thorner and David Nicholson. They advise her how to tackle a race at Ayr, with its extraordinarily dramatic result.
