The Sunday Play: The Dark Tower

on BBC Radio 3

Another chance to hear this production of Louis
MacNeice's classic radio parable play, first produced in 1946. When Roland, the youngest of seven sons, sets off in the well-worn footsteps of family tradition, his journey brings him to the Dark Tower that has loomed perilously over his family for generations. Now Roland must make a crucial decision - a choice between blind obedience or free will - to confront "the evil that never dies".
