One of the highlights of the BBC Music Live weekend is this concert from Leeds Town Hall which is also broadcast on BBC2. This is an all-star line-up if ever there was one: the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yan Pascal Tortelier, the BBC Singers and Wayne Marshall, who plays Poulenc's Organ Concerto. The concerto opens with the early Messiaen work, Les Offrandes Ouhilees and concludes with Faure's Requiem - the agnostic composer's gentle revolt against the "purgatory and damnation" view of death.
