Presented by Glenda Jackson
Filmed in the shadow of the Hillsborough disaster, Glenda Jackson, a Merseysider by birth, discovers that unshakeable optimism and fighting spirit that is the hallmark of Liverpudlians and their city. There were more projects entered for the It's My City! competition from Liverpool than from anywhere else in the UK - and the judges were spoilt for choice. Glenda meets individualists like Leni Cruickshank, whose carp breed happily in a sewage tank in Fazarkley - and a group of women from west Everton who are changing the face of their environment. With the help of local poets - she looks at this much filmed city - with new eyes.
