Jazz For Two Ears
Steve Race looks at the repertoire of stereo. jazz records and a simultaneous broadcast in stereophony, from Saturday Club in the Light Programme
This is the first programme of a new series of stereophonic broadcasts in which listeners may hear the effect of the technique in a wide variety of programmes. In the past notable broadcasts at this time, apart from music, have included Daudet's L'Arlesienne, Bill Naughton 's Wigan to Rome, and William Russo 's jazz opera The Island. In the coming season there will again be contributions representative of almost all aspects of broadcasting including outside broadcasts. In this way the production staff of the BBC are given an opportunity of experimenting and perfecting an exciting new technique.
