A tribute to an anti-Fascist martyr. Written and produced by Louis Mac Neice, with music specially composed by Alan Rawsthome
Lauro de Bosis was a young Italian poet whose principles led him into anti-Fascist activities and so into exile. He returned from exile when on October 3, 1931, he flew a plane over Rome and deluged the city with anti-Fascist leaflets. This flight, from which he never returned, provides the climax for a programme commemorating one of the most vital and heroic of all opponents of Fascism.
