Viewpoint: Kilvert 1870

A century ago Francis Kilvert, a country clergyman, began to keep a diary. Published in 1939, it was acclaimed as one of the literary discoveries of the age.
Dr William Plomer, its editor, introduces extracts from the diary, with film of its Wiltshire locations.
