2: Naples. Hasse was 18 when he arrived in Naples, where his patrons included
Carlo Carmignanoforwhom Hasse wrote a serenata based on the story of Antony and Cleopatra. A commission quickly followed for Hasse to write an opera for the Neapolitan court.
