When Christ's Hospital decided to build an arts centre, the choice of Bill Howell, architect of the Young Vic, was not too unexpected; but far less predictable was the effect it would have on the sheltered life of this public school. One of the most popular companies to visit has been the London Contemporary Dance Theatre. During one of their weeks in residence, Leonard Pearcey discussed with dancers, staff and boys how they react to each other, and the surprising changes the centre has brought.
