Jack Charlton - The Boss

on BBC One London

Jack Charlton - like his younger brother Bobby -began this year's soccer season in a new career as Manager of a Second Division football team. On 1 December, the two famous brothers were due to clash. The fixture was Middlesbrough (under Jack) versus Preston (under Bobby).
This film was made on Teesside in the seven days that led up to the family confrontation. In his playing days, Bobby overshadowed Jack. As managers the boot is on the other foot.
In his very first season, Jack has lifted his new club into the First Division, and Middlesbrough has waited 20 years to get back among the elite.
