Twenty-five years ago Flanders and Swann began writing comedy songs for Laurier Lister 's revues, performed by artists such as Max Adrian , Joyce Grenfell. Diana Churchill.
Then in 1957 they came to the attention of the general public by appearing on stage in their two-man show At the Drop of a Hat. Scheduled to run for a limited three-week season, this proved such a hit that, together with its successor At the Drop of Another Hat. it ran in London, on Broadway and around the world for nearly 14 years.
