Killer whales are the most powerful of the dolphin family and the only whales to take warm-blooded prey. But there are few records of killer whales harming man. Whale-watchers Mike Bigg and John Ford of the Pacific Biological Station, Canada, and Peter Evans, Oxford University, consider the natural history of this social marine mammal.
