The voice of protest in pop is the subject of this new series which kicks off with a programme of music related to war. This recurring theme is traced back to the Second World
War, through to the modern "protest" pop song of the time of Vietnam, and more recent conflicts immortalised in pop lyrics.
Featuring archive interviews with Joan Baez , John Lennon , Elvis Costello and Joni Mitchell and specially recorded contributions from
Billy Bragg , Mary Travers and Michael Franti of the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.
