The Upsetter - the Life and Works of Lee "Scratch" Perry

on BBC Radio 2

4/4. Mark Lamarr profiles Jamaican-born Lee "Scratch" Perry, the unconventional reggae and dub maverick whose works as a mixologist, songwriter and producer of such acts as Bob Marley and the Wailers established him as one of reggae's key figures.
This final edition recalls the demise and ruin of Perry's Black Ark production studio and the ensuing attempts to get back on track, including his successful collaboration with UK producer Adrian Sherwood. Perry is on hand to fill in the details.
